Prior to the building of the Petronas Twin Towers, the Sultan Abdul Samad building has long been a famous landmark for Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur. It was built in 1897 with a unique Moorish-style design and a clock tower reminiscent of Big Ben.

This very popular local cuisine consists of rice steamed with coconut milk and served with curry chicken or beef, fried anchovies and sambal. Sometimes pandan leaves are added when steaming the rice to give it a fragrant aroma.

Set in a grove of palm trees, this is Kuala Lumpur?s most delightful mosque. Built in 1907, the mosque is a tranquil creation of onion domes and minarets of layered pink and cream bricks. The design is inspired by the Moghul mosques of India.
