Madrid is the capital city of Spain, and is located almost exactly in the geographical center of the Iberian Peninsula. Madrid is best known for its great cultural and artistic heritage, a good example of which is the El Prado museum. Madrid also boasts some of the liveliest nightlife in the world. On weekends, Madrilenian youth are famous for dancing all night long, stopping only to have some chocolate con churros at dawn, go home, take a shower, shave (or not), and go to work. Madrid hosts the largest Plaza de Toros (bullring) in Spain, Las Ventas, established in 1931. Las Ventas is considered by many to be the world center of bullfighting and has a seating capacity of almost 25,000. Madrid's bullfighting season begins in March and ends in October.
